Responsibilities and Qualifications

Bonobos is seeking a Senior Manager, Social Media and Communications. This role is a key member of the Marketing Team and plays a pivotal role in transforming the social media and communications capabilities of Bonobos.This role leads the development of Bonobos' social media strategy and in creating the blueprint for how Bonobos' branded social channels and landscape express the brand. This role is responsible for leading strategic and tactical social media and influencer programs, with budget responsibility. This role plays a key part in defining the role of each branded social channel content creation and development, community building, influencer management, and in integrating social with other marketing channels season after season. In addition, the Senior Manager, Social Media and Communications role is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications initiatives to increase awareness of and affinity for the Bonobos brand and its leadership team. This role maintains oversight and accountability for all internal and external communications, including strategy, design, execution, and measurement. Furthermore, this role oversees and operationalizes external agency partners, collaborates with a network of PR-related teams, and partners with internal cross-functional teams, including both Bonobots and parent organization, Phoenix Retail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media
  • Lead the development of Bonobos' social media strategy, and in creating the blueprint for how Bonobos' branded social channels and corresponding landscape express the brand
  • Drive brand awareness and introduce Bonobos to new audiences while building engagement and loyalty to our overall customer base
  • Define the role of each social media channel and corresponding audience, influencers, and ecosystems
  • Explore, identify, and source emerging channels and sources of content where our target consumers are in discovering brands and engaging content.
  • Build and develop content buckets aligned with integrated marketing channels and product focus / strategy
  • Align key tent pole moments for the brand and develop social content calendar aligned with marketing & product calendar
  • Amplify key seasonal moments via creative activations built on a social-first lens
  • Collaborate with Brand and Creative teams in developing brand-led content that align with Creative seasonal productions but more social-first lens
  • Collaborate with the Brand team in defining and developing creator-led content: identifying strong creators for Bonobos that are plugged-in to brand-relevant trends and building a network of influencers to create strong content for all platforms
  • Collaborate with Creative team to build a social-relevant production plan that meets the content needs aligned with each social platform
  • Cultivate a robust network of micro-, nano-, and macro-influencers and ambassadors to create UGC and amplify the brand in the social media space
  • Identify and capitalize on trends and viral moments and activate brand on a social level to drive conversation
  • Build a strong foundation for community management with a focus on engaging and expanding on conversations with external audiences
  • Define and manage social-relevant KPIs and metrics aligned with business and brand goals
  • Manage and maintain social media budget.


Public Relations & Communications
  • Lead the development and distribution of strategic PR Communications and brand campaigns that influence and engage internal & external audiences with a strong focus on driving brand awareness and building brand love among consumers
  • Define the vision, goals, core strategies, and most efficient tactics to drive media coverage and reach new consumers, influencers and investors across business, trade, and consumer press
  • Partner with external agency to create plans that amplify our brand campaigns; assets, positioning and placement of products and services, news & announcements, etc.
  • Proactively and reactively pitch media outlets for coverage on Bonobos across business / corporate, consumer, fashion, and lifestyle media
  • Develop communication platforms for key executives, as well as thought leadership distribution strategies
  • Ideate and plan "breakthrough" buzzworthy PR events and activations to elevate the company's message, bringing new perspective and vision that tap into the company's disruptive roots
  • Contribute to initiatives involving brand partnerships and collaborations from a marketing and product perspective
  • Work closely with the Marketing leadership team to ensure strategies and tactics influence and build on broader marketing goals; monitor and action on relevant PR KPIs and metrics
  • Collaborate with broader Marketing team, including Brand and Creative, to contribute to marketing campaign plans, key initiatives, and content / storytelling efforts, aligned with broader strategic objectives, including partnerships and events
  • Work with cross-functional teams: Design, Merchandising, Production to deliver brand-wide events, e.g., press previews, etc.
  • Develop and formalize corporate communication function / processes that will liaise with the relevant EXPR Comms teams
  • Manage and optimize department budget and spend


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Social Media and Brand; and PR/Communications, media relations (experiential background a plus) within a consumer-driven business (ideally both agency and in-house experience)
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant Liberal Arts field
  • Demonstrated expertise in significantly increasing brand awareness, amplifying brand desirability, and building highly- engaged communities
  • Experience in building and growing social media platforms, bringing creator and influencer community into brands, and integrating social media into broader campaigns
  • Proven track record of garnering media coverage with a wide range of media, including both business and consumer-facing publications
  • Have experience managing a team at different levels of experience and multiple agencies, bringing out the best in them everyday and setting them up for success
  • Have experience working with content experts to create and execute internal communications plans to connect associates to the purpose and priorities of the business, including: synthesizing business language and complex information into clear, relevant messages with clarity of purpose, intent and broad perspective for a variety of audiences.
  • Proven track record of effective budget management on social media and PR while achieving brand, product, community and influencer objectives.

  • Highly organized, and with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and strong in prioritizing across multiple projects
  • Strong communication skills to unlock new and improved ways to message the brand and reach new audiences and move the needle through engaging content
  • Have excellent judgment and are able to act decisively in situations requiring quick but thorough analysis and decision- making, while understanding when and how to appropriately escalate issues

Actual compensation offered is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, work location, education, relevant skills and experience of the candidate.

$120,700 - $187,700
