Responsibilities

The Sr Store License Analyst is a key member of the Tax team responsible for independently managing the end-to-end process of business license compliance and annual report filings for all retail store locations. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to exercise independent judgment in resolving complex compliance matters. The Sr Store License Analyst proactively partners with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure licensing obligations are met accurately and on time, supporting the continued operation and growth of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the strategy and execution of business license and annual report filings across all jurisdictions independently
  • Act as the primary point of contact with third-party compliance providers (e.g. CSC Global, CT Corporation) managing service levels and issue resolution
  • Proactively identify, research, and interpret licensing, permit, and reporting requirements for new and existing store locations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Real Estate, Legal, Store Operations, Store Design & Construction, and Treasury to gather required information and ensure compliance alignment
  • Analyze compliance risks and develop action plans to resolve licensing issues with minimal oversight
  • Independently manage communication with state and local agencies, including handling escalations and resolving regulatory inquiries
  • Oversee the intake, review, and routing of tax department correspondence, ensuring timely response and follow-up
  • Monitor and coordinate internal tax payment processes with Treasury to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Continuously assess and improve business license compliance procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and support broader tax department initiatives as needed

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
