Responsibilities

The Loss Prevention Investigator will help to protect company assets through activities in safety, inventory recovery, internal and external theft resolution, and provides support for special events/Design Studio. The LP Investigator assists with the reduction of inventory loss, time and assets by monitoring surveillance equipment and apprehension of shoplifting suspects. Additionally, assists with LP audits and internal theft case resolution.

Monitor and identify internal and operational opportunities within store locations:
  • Use all provided tools and training to identify potential dishonest associate acts within a store location. Gather all evidence and present to direct supervisor for further action.
  • Assist with internal theft interviews as needed by direct supervisor
  • Use all provided tools and training to identify operational opportunities within a store location. Research paperwork and data, and recap findings with store teams and direct supervisor.

Aggressively address all issues of safety and theft to deliver a great experience for our customers and associates:
  • Recover merchandise and apprehend subjects for retail theft and/or fraud.
  • Prosecute subjects as required and represent the company with any court proceedings.
  • Create and maintain detailed case reports of all identified incidents.
  • Utilize company reporting and data to identify store locations at risk for theft or safety concerns. Collaborate with direct supervisor to provide store locations direct support as needed, based on identified data.
  • Develop and foster networking and partnerships opportunities with local law enforcement and security.
  • Assist store locations with physical security and safety concerns by diffusing situations in the moment or providing actionable safety advice.

Assist direct supervisor with market related tasks, projects, and goals:
  • Assist with direct security management of all special events and projects in assigned market; physical security for VIPs, On-location media shoots, and all corporate events/design studio.
  • Provide feedback and follow up to stores from Operational Audits completed by direct supervisor and ALPM.
  • Provide feedback and advice for district level topics discussed weekly by direct supervisor. Assist with district calls alongside direct supervisor as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-3 years of retail merchandising, investigative, loss prevention or equivalent experience
  • Understand retail as it relates to inventory control, safety and profitability
  • Flexible work hours including some nights, weekends, and daily travel throughout a market
  • Education: High School or Equivalent
  • Percentage of Travel: 30-50% within Florida (FL)

  • High ethical standards and the ability to work with confidential information
  • Must be able to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations including the ability to apprehend guests and team members in a calm, professional and diplomatic manner
