Responsibilities

The Leadership Development Consultant assesses the leadership learning and performance development needs of the enterprise focusing on Leading Self, Leading Others, and Leading Leaders within Express University. In addition, this role will collaborate with business subject matter experts to build functional and business acumen development to enhance associates' skills and capabilities in partnership with the Learning Administrator.

  • Assesses organizational learning and development needs enterprise wide and builds targeted learning programs and activities to close these gaps. Targeted focus will be management and executive development programs.
  • Partners with cross functional teams, human resources advisors, and functional departments to develop, manage, and execute the strategic learning & development calendar for Express to achieve goals enterprise wide.
  • Leads the instructional design and development of learning programs focused on core competencies, skills, behaviors and functional knowledge.
  • Identifies and recommends appropriate vendor partnerships as needed.
  • Works strategically with vendors to develop and/or execute programs.
  • Assesses training curriculum, associate assessment and diagnostic tools and programs in order to develop skills, behaviors, and knowledge, as well as the return that each program has for the business.
  • Facilitation - Facilitates training programs in instructor or virtual led environments.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Instructional/Organizational Design, Human Resources or Education or additional years of experience considered in lieu of degree
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Fluent in instructional design theory and practical application
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments and skill gap analyses
  • Knowledgeable in the principles of adult learning, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training affects
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects, prioritizing accordingly, working cross functionally, coaching and holding self and others accountable
  • Experienced in the use of online learning development tools
  • Highly creative and able to think outside the box to develop


Desired Qualifications
  • Effectively able to work in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment
  • Retail apparel industry experience preferred.
