Responsibilities and Qualifications

Bonobos is seeking a Director of Wholesale to lead our small but mighty wholesale team. In this position, you will be responsible for strategically driving growth in our Wholesale channel by cultivating new accounts and identifying opportunities to expand business with existing accounts, as well as developing plans to enter new markets. You will collaborate cross functionally with internal partners to incorporate account feedback into the product development process, while partnering effectively with external partners to optimize ongoing wholesale partnerships.

  • Develop new partnerships and maintain/expand existing relationships
  • Curate mainline assortment to create differentiated account assortments to best optimize the product offering for the needs of individual accounts
  • Partner with marketing and visual teams to facilitate the development of branded collateral where required and optimize placement in stores
  • Contribute informed market perspective to internal concept meetings, board reviews, and product Interpret relevant market trends and communicate recommendations to internal design and merchandising partners.
  • Oversee development sampling requests for the wholesale
  • Oversee communications and feedback between customers and internal partners in Design, Production, Merchandising, Planning and Marketing.
  • Regularly audit and track inbound and outbound shipments; effectively monitor sales and stock levels with key accounts
  • Review brand's promotional cadence with accounts, and partner with accounts to understand strategy around in season markdowns and fashion liability risk
  • Travel to key accounts and seasonal trade shows to effectively showcase the line and support future season growth
  • Partner with internal planning team to manage and optimize weekly replenishment business in key items
  • Collaborate with planning, finance and customers to align on any co-op and margin requests as needed
  • Manage the Wholesale yearly budget in partnership with finance
  • Manage relationships with external vendor support partners, like Civa Technologies and Nuorder
  • Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up thru executive leadership team where necessary
  • Train and coach wholesale team in selling, negotiating and presentation skills
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of team members, while attracting, developing, and retaining new talent as needed


Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 10-15 years' experience in apparel wholesale
  • Past experience and established relationships with key major account players including Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks, Macy's, Von Maur, Belk, Stitch Fix, etc.
  • Menswear experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Must be willing and excited to travel to new and existing accounts to support the existing business and expand to new territory

Actual compensation offered is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, work location, education, relevant skills and experience of the candidate.

Salary Range

$144,900 - $218,500
