Responsibilities

The Planning Analyst is responsible for the analyzing of sales data, market trends and inventory levels to develop strategic plans and forecasts that optimize merchandise buying, inventory management and ultimately maximize sales and profitability by providing insights and recommendations to Directors of Planning and the VP, Planning & Allocations, along with communicating the results and analysis to leadership. This role leverages advanced data analysis to proactively identify opportunities and risks, ensuring precise stock allocation across stores while maintaining alignment with overarching business objectives. This position collaborates closely with Directors of Planning to assess business reporting requirements and develop enhanced financial reporting solutions. It is accountable for delivering comprehensive weekly reports, along with ad hoc analysis tailored to evolving business needs. The role demands agility and adaptability, with the ability to pivot seamlessly in response to shifting brand initiatives and strategic priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze historical sales data and market trends, to identify patterns and forecast future demand
  • Drive collaboration with merchants to develop and execute merchandise strategies, encompassing product assortment, pricing and promotional initiatives.
  • Identify emerging trends and market shifts to inform buying decisions. Predict outcomes and recommend actions to align with goals
  • Partner with the Planning team to deliver key milestones and strategic initiatives with accuracy and impact.
  • Lead all size selling analysis and provide teams with future recommendations
  • Prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, consistently meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Partner with Directors to provide choice count analysis and future targets
  • Partner with team to appropriately set up, read, and action all major tests
  • Lead, coach, and develop the planning team, ensuring proficiency across all systems and tools to maximize efficiency and performance
  • Influences cross-functional partners and serves as a strategic thought leader in shaping and advancing planning strategies
  • Own Ad hoc reporting to support the total Express planning team


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-7 years of merchandise planning or similar analytical role experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational, prioritizing and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
  • Proficient user of MSI Data Warehouse, Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, Outlook, Power Point
