Responsibilities

The Sr. Software Developer is responsible for deliverables in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) starting with scope definition and continuing through implementation support. This key role will with work with other IT developers, business users, IT infrastructure team members and external vendors (including our Systems Integration partner) to ensure that project deliverables are implemented on time and satisfy all of the business requirements.

Essential Functions

Participate in business requirement gathering meetings with business users to understand all aspects of the business (functionality, processes, technologies); determine feasibility of requests; identify best approach to provide technology solutions to meet business needs; provide detailed estimations (time, cost, resources); and then translate into technical specifications.

Complete full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from design, flowcharting, development, testing and implementation. This includes strong integration with other systems. Must be able to provide recommendations for enterprise architecture.

Define the scope of projects using a broad knowledge of the business, existing systems, and available technologies

Leads the evaluation of new products, platforms, and technologies on medium to large scale projects and/or medium to high complexity projects

Perform administrative functions in relation to project activities; project plans, technical specification development, status reports, and issue reporting on medium to large scale projects

Provide support and troubleshooting for all related systems and technologies. This includes being a point of contact for business users. Requires strong problem solving and communication skills to interpret issues and provide resolution. Must be able to coordinate with vendor for escalation of support related issues.

Responsible for being a technical subject matter expert on the PeopleSoft HCM Modules HR, Payroll, Time and Labor, Benefits and/or PeopleSoft Financials modules GL, AP and AR

Performs technical analysis of systems requirements for requests, problem resolution and/or functional requirements

Provides technical consulting/mentorship on medium to highly complex projects • Indirectly manages technical personnel on medium to large scale projects

Provides support for business critical applications identifying and providing solutions to application software issues

Provide on-call support for PeopleSoft related issues Preferred Requirements

Job Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or an equivalent combination of coursework and job experience
  • Years of Experience: 5 - 7
  • 5+ years of systems analysis and programming experience; minimum three years of project design activities
  • 4+ years of experience as a PeopleSoft developer using SQR, App Engine, PeopleCode, PeopleTools, UNIX and NT, OS scripting, Workflows and Component Interfaces
  • Advanced technical expertise in languages, operating systems, databases, development tools, networking, and/or software packages
  • Possesses an excellent knowledge of software development (program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging)
  • Experience integrating PeopleSoft Financials with multiple legacy systems, and conversions of legacy systems to PeopleSoft FSCM
  • Experience integrating PeopleSoft HCM with multiple systems, both internal and external
  • Experience in the following systems: PeopleTools, Integration Broker, Application messaging, SQL, n/Vision, PeopleSoft Internet Architecture knowledge, Oracle RDBMS, UNIX O/S, Windows 2003 or higher
