Individual contributor as part of the Planning & Allocation Technology (MPA) team will be responsible for installation, configuration and management of the Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning and Allocation systems. Job duties will include design, development , testing and maintenance of Integrations to these applications. Candidate should have strong knowledge of Retail application concepts.

Participates in Business Requirement gathering meetings with Business Users to understand all aspects of the business (Functionality, Processes, Technologies); Determine feasibility of requests; Identify best approach to provide Technology Solutions to meet Business Needs; provide Detailed Estimations (Time, Cost, Resources); and then translate into Technical Specifications.


Completes full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from Design, Logic Flowcharts , Development, Testing and Implementation. This includes strong Integration with other Systems.


Provides Support and Troubleshooting for all related Systems and Technologies. This includes being a point of contact for business users. Requires strong problem solving and communication skills to interpret issues and provide resolution. Must be able to coordinate with vendor for escalation of support related issues. Also includes on call rotation support.

Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of software development/project related activities (i.e., architect, design, develop, test and maintain enterprise applications).
  • Ability to think outside the box in terms of software solutions for complex problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical expertise in required languages, operating systems, databases, development tools, networking, and/or software packages.
  • Participates in full lifecycle projects to understand business requirements and then completes the design, development, testing, implementation and production support.
  • Translate functional specifications into technical specifications to provide low level details for development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business and technology cross-functional teams
  • Ability to determine feasibility of business requests, estimate time frames and resources needed, and assist Project Manager with project planning
  • Engage in 24/7 on-call support activities

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in RDBMS concepts.
  • Strong working ability with Oracle Databases, SQL & PL/SQL.
  • Strong working ability in Shell scripting on Linux OS.
  • Knowledge of Collaboration, Automation and Source Control Tools like JIRA, Confluence, Atlassian Stack, GitHub and Control M.
  • Working experience in Retail / Supply Chain IT is a must.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience in 24x7 On-Call support mechanisms and protocols

Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic, VBScript, JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of ETL Tools like ODI.
  • Knowledge of Retail applications like Allocation, Merchandising Enterprise Panning and Assortment Planning.
