Responsibilities

The Manager IT Technical Services will lead the technical direction, design, development, delivery and leadership of existing solutions as well as strategic new Technology initiatives. This person will play a significant role in strategic and tactical direction of key projects and will engage cross-functionally at all levels of the organization. This position requires business or technical expertise in distributed solution and infrastructure, and extensive expertise in various technologies such as Storage, Servers, Cloud, Virtualization, Office 365, Windows and Linux. The desired person will be a Leader and mentor to the Team that is willing and able to jump in when needed. The Manager will lead with emotional intelligence and is expected to be available and involved in resolving complex technical challenges within the enterprise. The Manager will interface directly with our key vendor and business partnerships in support of the existing infrastructure and keeping Express on the leading edge to support the ever-expanding business initiative and expanding application portfolio. This person will be responsible for participating in the collaborative process of creating and maintaining annual and project budgets.

Leadership

Supervision of Technical staff providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to support all infrastructure technology initiatives Globally. Work closely with cross-functional business partners and IT peers to fully understand business requirements and implement long-term solution to enable business growth. Vendor/Partner management.

Infrastructure Operability

Recommend and execute distributed infrastructure hardware and software configuration, installation, patching, integration, upgrades, and performance tuning of multiple environments while leveraging vendor relationships and expertise as required. Deliver operational and administrative mentorship to IT Systems Administrators in support of critical production systems. Plan, participate in and maintain capital and expense budgets.

IT Operations

Support daily operations related to the Distributed environments such as capacity management, performance monitoring and reporting, provisioning, and network systems connectivity. Ability to provide after hours (on-call) support and maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

Architecture & Design

Provide Distributed server design, implementation, and support recommendations to information technology partners and IT leadership with an emphasis on data security, availability, integrity, and optimal performance.

Systems Administration

Deliver operational support related to the hosts attached to the respective storage systems, including but not limited to servers and clusters running Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware ESX/vSphere, and HP-UX.

Risk, Compliance, Sustainability and Process Improvement

Ability to consistently adhere to change and incident management policies when implementing system changes and addressing problem resolution.

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Years of Experience: 10 + including Management (People & Technical) experience of multiple functions: Virtualization, Storage, Mid-range, Desktop (VDI), Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Experience designing, managing, and administering complex virtualization environments in multiple locations while providing High-Availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Experience administering, architecting, and managing servers, storage, and systems monitoring in multiple and complex network server environments.
  • Experience architecting solutions which meet High Availability requirements for 24x7 business operations.
  • Experience adhering to change and incident management policies in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience leading technical efforts and coordinate both project and operational activities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere environments using EMC and Nimble storage via Fiber Channel and NFS.
  • Must have an insatiable desire for Innovation & Technology to drive a competitive advantage.
  • Experience managing vendors and multi-year contracts.
  • Experience with infrastructure in a primary remote secondary configuration.
  • Experience with hybrid (on premises and cloud) infrastructure and data services.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining capital and expense budgets.

Critical Skills & Attributes
  • Ability to deliver technical and administrative support partnership to IT Systems and Applications. administrators in the IT department.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must have an excellent understanding of infrastructure systems and sense-of-urgency 24x7x365.
  • Should have an in-depth understanding of current industry trends and their advantages with the enterprise.
  • Must be a self-starting Leader with the ability to coach, mentor, and lead others technically w/mutual respect.
  • Must be able to prepare, present, and maintain technical documentation for Operational reviews.
  • Extensive troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills by platform, lead technically.
  • Experience supporting replication technologies including SRM/Zerto/Veeam, vCloud Director.
  • Any of the following certifications are a plus:
    • VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDE)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHSA)
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCAP)
    • Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
