Accounting Summer Intern

Overview

The Express Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid program that offers undergraduate Juniors and Seniors the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced professionals while gaining exposure to various aspects of a retail fashion company. The Summer Intern class will include students interested in hands-on experience in an area of interest and exposure to cross-functional collaboration as well as gaining valuable professional development.

The 2023 program runs from June 5th to August 11th, and positions will be available in our Columbus, Ohio headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Express' Accounting professionals and cross-functional partners
  • Analyze and reconcile store level cash, credit card and gift card activity
  • Analyze Accounts Payable and assist in invoice processing and payment creation, manual expense report auditing, and real estate check reconciliation
  • Assist in Financial Reporting: balance sheet account reconciliations, monthly process and journal entry audits
  • Inventory Control: Assist with physical inventory reconciliation and analysis as well as tracking of vendor fabric commitments
  • Other ad hoc accounting assignments as needed

Requirements
  • Availability to work full time (40 hours per week)
  • Preferred GPA at or above 3.2
